Outdoor Fields Statement on COVID-19

The safety of our guests and staff is of the utmost importance. We want to provide our guests with a safe and healthy environment. To do this, our staff has added the following Social Distancing and Safety Rules:

  • Players and spectators are encouraged to keep 6 feet social distancing when possible.
  • Spectators are advised to wear protective face coverings.
  • Participants are discouraged from high fives, fist bumps or other social contact during play.
  • Participants and spectators should exit the fields immediately at the conclusion of play.
  • Participants must clean the bench area completely upon leaving.
  • Participants and spectators waiting for the next game on a field, should wait at an appropriate distance until previous participants and spectators have vacated the bench and field areas.
  • Participants must have their own equipment. Michigan Tech Recreation will not provide any equipment.

All visitors are required to complete the COVID-19 Visitor Symptom Tracking Form prior to visiting campus. Individuals whose symptoms do not meet CDC guidance for warning signs of COVID-19 will be provided with a confirmation code to present when asked while on campus.

We encourage visitors to follow the guidance of the CDC for everyday preventive actions to help prevent the spread of respiratory viruses. Some things you can do to help make the Michigan Tech outdoor fields a safe environment include:

  • Washing your hands with soap and water for 20 seconds
  • If soap and water are not available use hand sanitizer
  • Avoid touching your face, nose, eyes, etc.
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick

Guidelines for Summer 2020:

  • Maximum group size of 250
  • Reservations will need to include names/contact information for all participants
  • Reservation and program payments can only be made online or over the phone
  • Do not share water bottles, bring your own.
  • Arrive no earlier than 15 minutes prior to game/activity time and exit immediately following
  • Individuals should not congregate outside the field of play.
  • Wearing a mask is encouraged when not participating.
