2024 Spring Semester Sunday Schedule

  • Sunday, January 14 - March 17, 6:00-8:00 pm
  • No skating February 25, March 3, 10

2024 Spring Semester Tuesday & Thursday Schedule

  • January 9 - March 21
  • Tuesday/Thursday, 12:00 - 1:15 pm
  • No skating February 27 & 29

Cost

  • Free to Michigan Tech students and SDC Access Holders
  • Included in the purchase of an SDC Action Pass or SDC Day Pass
  • $10 General Public Admission (skating only)
  • $5 Skate Rental 

Requirements for Entry

General Public & SDC Access Holders

  • Non-Access Holders of the SDC must go to the ticket office, pay general admission, and receive a wristband.
  • SDC Access Holders must go to the Ticket Office to verify their status and receive a wristband.
  • All general public and SDC Access Holders must show their wristband to the Skate Guard at entry to the ice.

Michigan Tech Student 

  • Tap student ID with Skate Guard at entry to the ice

 

Equipment

Skate Rental

  • Skate Rental can be purchased for $5 at the SDC Ticket office.
  • Bring your ticket down to the Skate Rental Center to receive your equipment.
  • Equipment rental form/waiver wil be required annually.
  • Equipment is first come, first serve (limited inventory).
  • Must be returned at the end of the session.

Free Helmet Issue

  • Check a helmet out at the Skate Rental Center at no cost
  • First come, first serve (limited inventory)
  • Must be returned at the end of the session

Rules

Obey the Skate Guards' instructions, or you could lose your skating privileges.

  • Helmets (or protective headgear) required.
  • MTU is not responsible for personal belongings and lost or stolen items.
  • Locker rooms will not be available, but an area to put skates on will be provided.
  • Mini storage lockers are available (limited number).
  • You must have ice skates on at all times when you are on the ice.
  • Figure skating tricks should be done in the center, not near the edges.
  • No hockey sticks, pucks, or balls.
  • No skating against traffic.
  • No sitting on boards or throwing objects on ice (ie snowballs).
  • No speed skating, pushing, pulling, trains, conga lines, chase or tag games.
  • No food or beverages are allowed on the ice.
  • No abusive or profane language.
  • No tobacco (smoked or chew).

THESE RULES AND REGULATIONS HAVE BEEN DEVELOPED FOR YOUR SAFETY AND EQUAL ENJOYMENT OF THE FACILITY.
