Bio

Bengry comes to Michigan Tech from Saginaw Valley State University, where she served as the Assistant Swimming and Diving coach for the 2018-2019 and 2019-2020 seasons. At SVSU, Annie led the sprint group and coordinated the Cardinal Aquatic Swim Lessons program. 

Annie attended Saint Leo University, where she served as a Graduate Assistant Coach for the Men’s and Women’s Swimming teams from 2015-2018. While earning her Masters in Business Administration with a concentration in Sport Business, she helped assist in coaching multiple All-American student-athletes and guided several student athletes to national qualifying performances. 

Prior to Saint Leo, Annie, a native of Marquette, MI, served as a volunteer coach for Northern Michigan University’s Women’s Swim Team while earning her Bachelor of Science degree in Sport Science. 

A former collegiate swimmer and diver, Annie also trained for three years as an Olympic weightlifter at the US Olympic Training Site at Northern Michigan University. Annie has also served as a swim coach, lifeguard, swim instructor and aquatics assistant at the YMCA of Marquette County and the Tampa Metropolitan Area YMCA. She is a certified American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor, Water Safety Instructor and Water Safety Instructor Trainer.
