What you put into a class is what you will get out of it, so make the water work for you! Come find your depth. Whether you prefer the deep or the shallow end, you won't be in over your head. Use the water for a workout that is low on impact but high in resistance, that will get your heart pumping and leave you feeling energized.

SDC Pool

The Student Development Complex lap pool and dive tank are licensed by the State of Michigan and inspected by the Western U.P. District Health Department. Accordingly, the water is analyzed and the temperature is taken daily. The new heating system keeps the water consistantly between 82-83 degrees.

Special Requirements

Appropriate swimwear (bathing suits, no cutoffs or street clothes) and a towel. Water shoes are optional but recommended. Though exercises are performed with your head above the water, swim caps and goggles are recommended. Participants must be a minimum of 16 years old.

New HuskiesFit Punch Cards expire one year from the date of purchase, are valid for the current list of available classes, and will not be exchanged or refunded due to classes not being offered on a consistent basis. Customers are responsible for keeping their cards.

The SDC is not responsible for lost or stolen property. Please do not leave valuables unattended. 


About the Instructor

Fran Kalisch
Fran Kalisch, H2O Blast Instructor – Fran Kalisch has been steeped in chlorinated water from an early age as a competitive swimmer, as well as twenty years as a certified Red Cross swimming instructor and instructor trainer. Take the plunge into water aerobics, Fran has held a United States Fitness Association Master Level water aerobics instructor certification since 2010. Fran uses the water's low-impact environment to build and strengthen muscles, work on balance and good posture, and develop and maintain cardiovascular fitness with a healthy emphasis on enjoying as well as challenging oneself.
