Huskies Swim Training

Michigan Tech Aquatics - Huskies Swim Clinic, SDC Pool, Swimming training for ages 6-17 years old

Join us for a summer of swimming in Huskies Swim Training! This training program provides additional attention and competitive guidance to proficient swimmers ages 6-17 looking to improve their swimming skills and fitness levels. Our goal is to provide participants with a dynamic, 6-week-long training program. Two-week sessions are also available. Each two weeks has a stroke focus to help participants refine their skills and develop their speed.

Participants must have swimming knowledge and ability equivalent to Level 6 of the American Red Cross Learn-to-Swim program or higher, demonstrate competency in all four competitive strokes, and be able to swim multiple lengths of the pool unassisted. Classes include a warm-up, skill work, and a workout.

Space will be provided for personal items on the pool deck. Goggles are highly recommended. Showering is required before entering the water. Class size is limited.

The Student Development Complex lap pool and dive tank are licensed by the State of Michigan and inspected by the Western U.P. District Health Department. Accordingly, the water is analyzed and the temperature is taken daily. The new heating system keeps the water constantly between 82-83 degrees.
