Hosted by the Michigan Tech Nordic Ski Team

Tuesday nights, 6-8 p.m. on the lighted Michigan Tech Trails
Races start at 6 p.m.

Due to the weather, the Citizen's Night Series has been postponed. If conditions allow, the Nordic Ski Team will seek to do a pop-up event later this season.

The Citizen’s Night Ski Race Series (CNSRS) is on for the 2022-23 ski season! Our team and the Tech Trails staff will put on the CNSRS once a month through the ski season! The CNSRS is a race series and an engagement event for our local ski community, giving everyone the opportunity to race, to enjoy skiing as a lifelong sport, and to ski together with your community through the season!

Citizen’s Night Ski Race Series!:

Registration & Fee

Registration is in-person through the SDC Ticketing Office. Registration is $25 for the entire ski series, and includes a Michigan Tech race bib that you get to keep! Please wear your race bib for each CNSRS event you participate in. This is a fundraiser for the Michigan Tech Nordic Ski Team & Tech Trails, thank you for your participation and support of our team and trails!

Series Dates

Tuesday Nights on the following dates:

  • January 24th

  • February 14th

  • March 28th

Race Timing

There will be a mass start race @ 6pm for all series events, and participants will also be allowed to start on-their-own if preferred after the mass start goes off. All participants will self-time each race. We will email out a spreadsheet for you to input your race time for each series event if you so choose, and we’ll publish and track results through the series.

Prizes!:

We have prizes for the series that will be presented in-person immediately following our last CNSRS event on March 28th!

Race Course & Options

We will have a 2.5km and a 5km race option, and racers may choose to skate or classic. The race courses will be communicated via email to all registered event participants, and shared on our MTU Nordic Ski Team FaceBook page before the first event. The race courses will have limited markings, so it is advised that participants view the course map and ski their race course before they participate in the event.
