Range Information
Located in the lowest level of the SDC, the shooting range is home to several student clubs, PE classes, community programs and public access. Having undergone a major renovation in 2018, Michigan Tech would like to thank the following groups for their support of the project: Wildlife and Sport Fisheries Restoration Project, United States Fish and Wildlife Service, Michigan Department of Natural Resources.
For Students
The Shooting Range is home base to Michigan Tech's Student Organizations including the Archery Club, Competition Rifle Team, Pistol Club, and Practical Pistol Club. Eligible Michigan Tech students gain access to the Shooting Range through student fees paid with their tuition. Range access is limited to the hours the clubs have reserved. Range Club membership fees, which are minimal, can be paid each semester.
Non-Student Access
The public (MTU Faculty/Staff and Community patrons) is welcome to use the Shooting Range during posted club hours, but all non-students are required to pay a fee. Note that SDC Access Holders do not include access to the Range.
