John J MacInnes Student Ice Arena

Arena Information

Home to the Michigan Tech Men's Hockey team, the John MacInnes Student Ice Arena was built in 1972. The arena is named after John J. MacInnes, who was the head coach of the Huskies from 1956 to 1983. The arena has a capacity of 4466, which is in the top 30 for largest capacity in NCAA Hockey. Thirteen private suits and a 14-foot by 8-foot LED video board are the newest additions to the arena.

Skate Rental Center

Located on the ice level in the John MacInnes Student Ice Arena, the Skate Rental Center has a full inventory of skates and helmets in youth and adult sizes.

  

Community Access

Everyone has a chance to enjoy the John MacInnes Student Ice Arena. There is open recreation time for skating and hockey as well as yearly programs and summer camps! 

 

For Students

There are a lot of opportunities for Michigan Tech students to skate at the John MacInnes Student Ice Arena. These opportunities include open recreation time (skating or hockey), joining a club team, or sign up for an Intramural Sports team.
