Private and Semi-Private Lessons
Private and semi-private lessons are available to participants of all ages! Private lessons provide a one-on-one, teacher-to-student experience to increase swimming skills. Semi-private lessons provide a small-group experience consisting of 2 participants of similar ability levels. Lessons are sold as a 6-lesson package. All of our instructors are experienced MTU Aquatics staff members!
Space will be provided for personal items on the pool deck. Goggles are highly recommended. Showering is required before entering the water. Capacity is limited. The SDC is not responsible for lost or stolen property. Please do not leave valuables unattended.

Capacity is limited for inquiries for the Summer 2024 semester. All request slots are first come, first serve.
The request list will close at 11:59 pm on July 14th.
Each request slot holds a space for one private lesson package or one semi-private lesson package (includes both participants).
Once your request is processed, the Aquatics Manager will contact you with more scheduling information.
Instructors
All instructors are experienced MTU Aquatics staff members and certified as an American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor®.
Days/Times
- Summer 2024: May 20-August 23, 2024
- All lessons are scheduled during SDC Pool open/lap swim weekly hours.
- Each lesson is 45 minutes long.
- All lessons must be completed by Friday, August 23rd. All unused private and semi-private lesson tickets will be void after that date.
Cost of Six-Lesson Package:
- Private, one-student lessons $180
- Semi-private, two-student lessons $135/participant
